What do you have planned for ministry this weekend?

What do you have planned for ministry this year? Of course, there are special events like Kids’ Crusades, VBS, Sports Camps, Kids’ Camps, Backyard Bible Clubs, and so much more!

It can become a daunting task when thinking of all the events, tasks, meetings, classes, etc… that fill our schedules. How can we effectively accomplish them? How can we properly glorify God in all that we do?

Well, first of all, we should be sure that we are not diluting our schedules with responsibilities that are detracting us away from what God has called us to do. All of us recall the account in Acts where the Apostles realized that, though the tasks of operating the Body of Christ were important, they needed other leaders to step in and tend to them in order for the Apostles to focus upon what God had called them to do, prayer and preaching the Word. So, in brief, the first step in effective ministry is to stay focused on God’s call for you.

Secondly, remind yourself that God is with you. In Judges 6, we read the account of Gideon’s call. To summarize, God tells Gideon to go in the strength Gideon already had and save Israel. Gideon responded, “How can I? My entire family is the weakest and the least.” God said, “I will be with you.” Reminding yourself that God is with you as you walk in the calling He has placed on your life will strengthen you! It builds your faith and does something from the inside out that refreshes you for every task at hand.

All of us have tasks that fill our days, but let your priorities fall upon those which lie in God’s call on your life and ministry! As you do, you will begin to see great things take place!
