Be Ready

Theme Verse: So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him. Matthew 24:44

Objects Needed:

Silkola (decorated Pringles can with dowel rod in middle, cola bottle), verne, 2 red silks

An empty cola bottle is shown with the cap on. It is placed inside a Pringles can and the lid is put on the can. A red silk is vanished. When the can is opened, the red silk has appeared inside the cola bottle.

This bottle represents someone who is not ready for Jesus’ coming. Notice that the bottle is empty. All of our lives are empty without Jesus living inside. I am also going to put this bottle into this canister. When I put the lid onto the canister, the bottle is in complete darkness. Many people live in complete spiritual darkness. They do not have the light of Jesus to show them the way each day. They cannot see the way to eternal life, so they are not ready for Jesus’ coming.  We do not want to be like any of these people. We need to be ready for Jesus’ coming, ready to escape the danger of hell by accepting salvation. How can we be ready through salvation? Can you remember your ABC’s? Then you can remember how to be ready through salvation. A can stand for admit. You need to admit to God that you have sinned, that you’ve done wrong. B stands for believe. You need to believe that because of Jesus’ death on the cross, God will forgive you. C stands for confess.  Confess means to say something. You must confess to God that you will obey Him for now on, instead of doing whatever you want to do. If you admit, believe, and confess–and really mean it–you can be ready through salvation for Jesus’ coming. This red silk represents Jesus. (Vanish the silk by using the verne.) When we admit, believe, and confess, something amazing happens! What seems to be impossible is possible! No longer is Jesus someone we hear about, but He is now someone who lives in our lives. (Open the canister and pull out the bottle with the red silk inside.) Jesus comes into our lives and fills them. Salvation through Jesus makes us ready for His coming! (Pray)
