Theme Verse:

Supporting Scripture:

Jer 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;(NIV)

Presentation:

Have the card force ready. You will choose a child from the audience to assist you. Explain that he must choose a card that represents him. Tell him that before he looks at it you will call out what card he has chosen. Have him choose the card. Call out the card, then have him look at it and reveal it to the audience. Move into your application.

Application:

I was able to call out the card you had chosen. In fact, I called it out before you even knew what it was. This may help us understand a little bit of what the Bible means by saying that before we were born, the Lord called us, that before we were even born, He set us apart. God has called or set apart each one of us here today. He knew about us before we were even born and He already had plans for our lives. But that brings us to a question we must answer, Why are we called? Ephesians 2:10 says that we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works. What are good works? The first good work any of us must do is choosing Christ Jesus as Savior and having our sins forgiven. Next, we need to act out the Fruit of the Spirit in our lives. How do we do that? – By showing others the love and joy of the Lord in our lives; by being patient, kind and good towards others; by showing gentleness and self-control in our attitudes and actions. Why else did God call us? God called each of us because He has a special plan for each of our lives, a plan that only you can fulfill. We find this plan out through spending time reading God’s Word, praying, and listening to Him speak to us. Since we now know that God has called us and has a special purpose for our lives, let’s work harder and more faithfully to do the things He has called us to do.
