    Philosophy Of The Bus Ministry

    Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

    Matthew 22:8-10

Then he said to his servants, `The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

    Mark 10:13-16

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. 16 And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

    Luke 14:23

Then the master told his servant, `Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.

Why Do We Have A Bus Ministry?

The Bus Ministry serves as a vehicle with which to reach, teach, and disciple families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Every individual participating in this ministry is given the opportunity to invite Jesus Christ into their life and be nurtured by the church.
    OUR MINISTRY

    Here’s What We Will Do:

    1. Our courteous bus captain will pick up your child at the door.

    2. When we arrive at the church we take your child from the bus/van to his or her class.

    3. In the classroom a trained staff of teachers teach your child of Jesus Christ and apply the Word of God to their lives complete with stories, songs and crafts.

    4. After class your child will be taken back to the bus/van for the ride home.

    5. On the bus ride to and from church there is a fun time of songs, Bible stories and games.

    6. Finally, when the bus/van arrives to your home, we make sure that your child is safely delivered to the door.

    Bus And Van Rules

    1. Everyone must stay in their seats and be buckled in.

    2. There is to be no fighting, yelling, or swearing on the vehicles or at the church.

    3. No food or drinks on the vehicles unless authorized.

    4. All trash needs to disposed of properly.

    5. Keep all items that are not church related at home (this includes such things as: headsets, tapes or CD’s, video games, books, magazines, toys, etc.)

    6. No smoking in the church vehicles or on church property.

    7. Respect the driver, his or her helpers, and the leaders at church.

    Discipline Procedures

Avoid discipline problems by relational bridge building, especially reach out to troublemakers-find out what’s gong on in their lives- pastor them.

    1. Verbal Warning/New seating arrangement

    2. One week suspension

    3. Meeting with Parents

    4. Dismissal

    · In the event of a suspension a report card will be filled out and will need to be signed by a parent for the child to ride the church vehicle again.
    · A talk with the parents at drop off time may be arranged.
    · Another arrangement for the child’s trip back home may be made.
    · The leaders on the church vehicles and at church have the right to confiscate any items that are causing distractions or are unfit for church.
    · If problems occur right after pick-up, the child will immediately be brought home.
    · If a child is unable to be controlled on the vehicle or at church, a call to the parents will be made. A parent will be asked to pick up their child at the church.
    · A meeting with the parents and Pastor or the leadership of the church can be arranged.

(Please see Discipline of Children and Youth in Church or during Church sponsored Events)

    REPORT CARD

This is our bus/van report card. It’s purpose is to inform you, the parent, of the progress of your child and to make you aware of any inappropriate behavior you child has had on the bus/van or church. In the event of inappropriate behavior this form must be signed by you, the parent, and returned at bus pick up time for your child to ride the bus again. Thank you for your understanding and help.
