Pass This Along!
When you are asking your students to memorize a Bible verse, be sure that you have memorized it yourself first. One effective memory technique is by singing the words to the tune of a well-known song. I often use the tunes "Yankee Doodle," "All Around the Mulberry Bush," "Did You Ever See A Lassie," or "Ten Little Indians." Then review the song with the children for several weeks to make sure that it is something they have truly learned and stored in their long term memory.
