LESSON 1: Creation
Materials:

o A Copy of the Story of Creation
o Index cards, one per child, with God written
on each one

Give each child an index card with the word God on it and seat them in a semi-circle on the floor. Tell the children that you are going to read them a Bible story and that you’d like for them to listen carefully to the story. Every time they hear the word God they should hold up their cards. Read the story and then ask the following questions:

1) Who made the world? (God)

2) How many days did it take God to make the world? (6)

3) What did God do on the seventh day? (He rested.)

4) What did God name the first man? (Adam)

5) What did God name the first woman? (Eve)

6) Who lived in the Garden of Eden? (Adam and Eve & the animals)

7) What other kinds of things did God create? (plants, animals, sun, moon, stars, etc.)

Activity: Calendar Review
Materials:
o A calendar page for each child (one week)
o Crayons
Give each child a calendar page and crayons. Tell the children to trace the numbers in the squares. Review the Bible story as you give the following instructions:
· Have them draw light in the square under Day 1.
· Have them draw a cloud in the square under Day 2.
· Have them draw a flower and tree in the square under Day 3.
· Have them draw a sun, moon, and stars in the square under Day 4.
· Have them draw a fish and a bird in the square under Day 5.
· Have them draw a stick figure and animal in the square under Day 6.
· Have them draw a smiley face in the square under Day 7.
· Have them draw a picture of themselves in the last square.

Craft: Playdoh Creations

Materials:

o Plastic Tablecloth
o Playdoh
o Plastic Knives & Accessories
o Baby Wipes
Cover the table with the plastic cloth and have the children create things from Playdoh. Let them use the plastic knives, cookie cutters, etc. Tell them to try and create 6 different things (one for each day God worked to create the world). Clean up by having the children put away the Playdoh and materials, and then toss the tablecloths in the trash. Give children baby wipes as needed to clean their hands.

Activity: Creation Charades
Materials:
o One game die
Have a volunteer roll the die. Everyone pretends to be whatever was created on the day shown by the number on the die. For example, if the number 3 is on the die, everyone pretends to be a tree or flower, etc.

3~ plants
4~ sun, moon, stars
5~ birds, fish
6~ man, animals
Craft: Nature Collage

Materials:

o Zip-Loc Bags (1 per child)
o Cardboard or construction paper (1 per child)
o Glue

Take a nature walk, collecting nature items in zip-loc bags. Bring the items back to class and glue them on cardboard or construction paper to make a nature collage.

Table Activity:Matching Game

Materials:

o Old Maid Cards

Turn all the cards over, face down, on the table and let the children take turns choosing two cards at a time to turn over. If a child’s two cards match, he places the matching cards in
a pile in front of him. The winner is the child with the most cards at the end of the game.
