Each and every year we adopt a new theme for the year. We use a catchy acronym to get the children excited about the year ahead.
Here are some of the ones we have used so far:
WWJD (Everyone knows this popular What Would Jesus Do )
GUM (God Using Me)
Frog (Fully Rely On God)
PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens)
GAP (We made a new one for each month, God Answers Prayer, God And Prophets, Give All Praise, God Adores People, Go And Plant. We asked the kids to think of these!)
FISH (First I Seek Him)
GIVE (Is our theme for this coming year…God Is Vital Everyday)
Each year we have bracelets made, and the children proudly wear them everywhere. It is an excellent opportunity for them to be a witness in there communities, when asked what the bracelet means.
A verse will accompany the theme which will be memorized by all the children. There are so many ways to use gum, fishes and frogs to teach children about God. The possibilities are endless. I hope this sparks some catchy acronyms in your minds that you can use in your ministry, or start with some of these!
