God’s Personal Navigator

Text- (Matthew 2:13) When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." (New International Version)

Look what I brought with me today. It is a Global Positioning unit. It tells me where I am, where I need to go, which way to turn, how to get back, how fast I am going, how long before I get to my final stop. It gets all this information from a Satellite up in space.
It is called a "Personal Navigatorä" I borrowed it from a friend of mine. A "Navigator" is one who directs the way to go.
I brought this to tell you about God’s personal navigator. In the Bible Matthew tells us (tell the text from above).
God’s personal navigator, remember "one who directs the way to go" appeared to Joseph in a dream. Who was it? An angel told Joseph that Jesus was in danger. They were to leave right away and escape to Egypt. What else did the angel say? The angel said to say in Egypt until I tell you to come back.
Did Joseph and Mary hop in their car and head over to Egypt? How did they get there? How long did it take them? Did they need one of these (the GPS)? No they had an Angel of the Lord, God’s Personal Navigator.
Later God "did" send his Personal Navigator back in a dream to tell Joseph that is was safe to come back.
It’s nice to live in a time when we can turn something like this GPS "on" and it can assist us in our travels. It’s more important for us to remember that God is there to assist us as the "one who directs our way to go." This model has an on switch. All we have to do to reach God is to pray. Let’s do that now.
