Text (Psalm 23:4) Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure. (The Message-Eugene H. Peterson)

    Thought starters
What do I have here? It’s a Shepherd’s staff. Today is Good Shepherd Sunday. This is the tool of the Shepherd. What would a Shepherd do with this?

Touch the sheep to keep them together. Pull one out of a hard to reach spot. Scare off an attacker.

The Shepherd staff is a sign of security, protection, and nearness.

King David was a shepherd. He wrote. "Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s staff makes me feel safe." Psalm 23:4

Who is the Good Shepherd? Jesus is the Good Shepherd. Who are the sheep or the lambs? You are!

Who helps you stay close, pulls you out of a hard spot, and fights away your problems? Jesus who protects us and is always near he is the Good Shepherd.

Remember, when you have trouble sleeping, don’t count sheep talk to the Shepherd.

Hymn "Shepherd of Tender Youth"¾ Henry M. Dexter

Prayer-Dear Lord, Thank you for guiding and protecting us as The Good Shepherd. Help us to remember you all always next to us. Amen
