Text- (John 20:29-31) Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Jesus did many other things in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (New International Version)

    Thought starters
Today I’m going to tell you the story of "Doubting Thomas." (Tell the story from John beginning with the first appearance in verse 19)

Jesus came back to show Thomas his hands and side because Thomas did not believe. He has a special message for you. The message he left for you is in John 20:29. Remember John was one of Jesus’ disciples. He reports to us that Jesus said to Thomas in front of the rest of the disciples, "Because you have seen me, you have believed, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

That verse was for Thomas who had to see, to believe, and for you, your parents, and others here who have not seen and believe. Jesus kept you in mind when he said those words.

John did a very good job of reporting things that Jesus said. He saw Jesus perform miracles right in front of him.

John also left us a special verse for us to wonder about. After he tells us the story of Thomas he mentions kind of "Oh’ by the way" Jesus did many other things in the presence of his disciples that are not written in this book.

What did we miss? What do you think we missed? Did Jesus heal more people than The Bible mentioned? Did he say special things that are not mentioned? I wonder what he did?

As we go to our Worship Centers and Sunday school classes today. Remember Jesus did many other miraculous signs that we missed hearing about. Chances are to the disciples it was Jesus as usual.

Blessed are you who have not seen and yet have believed.

Hymn-"How Oft, O Lord, Thy Face Hath Shone" – William Bright

Prayer-Dear Lord, Thank you for the story of Thomas. For the words from John and for the miracles performed that we will hear about in your presence. Amen
