Front Page Miracle
Let's Get the Word Out!
Text- (John 2:11) This act in Cana of Galilee was the first sign Jesus gave, the first glimpse of his glory. And his disciples believed in him. (The Message-Eugene H. Peterson)

One of Jesus disciples was John. Remember John reports to us the Miracles and Teachings of Jesus. After John writes about John the Baptist, and Jesus calling the disciples he can’t wait to tell us about the first miracle. (Read or tell the story of Jesus changing water into wine John 2:1-11, as you tell the story take the pitcher with water in it and pour it into the empty one with red and grape Kool-Aid mix on the bottom. At the appropriate time slowly pour the red and purple water into the now empty water pitcher.) Look at your reaction to what I did. I used red and grape Kool-Aid.
What do think the reaction of the disciples was? He turned water into wine. They were stunned. This was the first sign or miracle Jesus gave, and afterwards the disciples believed he was the Christ. Even though they knew Jesus, they now saw him with Epiphany Eyes. John thought it was so important that after he was chosen as a disciple, he told us about the special wedding miracle.
Hymn-"Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken" – John Newton Prayer-Dear Lord, Thank you for the first Miracle you performed. For John and all of your Miracles and Teachings he reports to us. And for changing us from water into wine. Amen
Prop- Two non-see through pitchers, one with water, and one empty with a Red and Grape Kool-Aid powder on the bottom.
