Just One More Thing…
Pass This Along!
Text- (Mark 10:21) Jesus looked him hard in the eye¾and loved him! He said, "There’s one thing left: Go sell whatever you own and give it to the poor. All your wealth will then be heavenly wealth. And come follow me." (The Message-Eugene Peterson)

How are things going? Is everything going all right at home? Doing all your homework?
Are you obeying your parents, no stealing, and no lying? Obeying all of God’s Commandments right. Maybe you know them as the ten best ways to live.
Mark wrote down this story Peter told him about Jesus. (Read or tell the story beginning from verse 17. When you get to verse 19 get out the balloon and beginning blowing it up with each commandment, you may want to omit the murder and adultery depending on the ages of the children. Stop with verse 20)
The rich man was very proud almost puffing up with pride because he had followed all of God’s commandments since he was a child. You can almost see him puffing up with pride in front of Jesus very pleased with himself.
The Jesus said to him (Read verse 21- pop the balloon with the pin after you say the word "poor," then finish the verse)
What did Jesus say to him that shocked him? Do you think that the rich man stopped being proud of how good he was?
Remember that Jesus loved him. He reminded the rich man and us that even though we follow all of God’s Commandments we must love and trust God, before we can truly follow him.
Let us never forget the poor, not only in our city, but our country, and around the world.

Prayer-Dear Lord, thank you for your commandments and help us to follow them. Help us to take care of the poor and all of their needs. Amen
