Before Holy week, we drew a very simple map of Jerusalem including the Temple, Herod’s palace, Mount of Olives, Golgatha, and the road to Bethany. We transferred that from a transparency to a BIG pieces of paper taped to the wall. (Enlarge map by shining transparency image onto to paper taped to the wall and trace image with markers.) It was at least 6 X 6 feet. Each week, as we studied part of the story of Jesus’ last weeks before His crucifixion, we pointed to the area where that happened on the map. It seems really simple, but the kids really got into it and the week after the map came down, they looked up to the wall to find out/point out where our story happened. by Sharon
