Can Ghosts Eat?

Text (Luke 24:36, 41-43 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence. (New International Version)

Thought starters
While watching TV sometimes we find ourselves watching something scary. A show with ghosts or other people intended to startle us.

Have you been scared before while watching television or a movie?

In the New Testament Luke tells us when Jesus appeared to the disciples they were frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. (read Luke 24:36)

I wonder, if you were there, would you have been scared?

Jesus said, “Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”

The Bible tells us they were stunned because of their joy and were amazed. Do you think they were looking at each other as if to say, “do you see what I see?”

Jesus then did something so small but so meaningful. He asked them if they had anything to eat?

Luke tells us in verse 43, They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.

Being hungry and eating was Jesus’ way of showing the disciples he was not a ghost.

You know Jesus is for real!
