Redeeming A Generation – Moving Kids from Virtual Reality to Spiritual Reality

Redeeming A Generation – Moving Kids from Virtual Reality to Spiritual Reality

The crux of what I wish to focus upon today is birthed out of a passionate vision for recapturing our children’s hearts for our Lord Jesus Christ.

You most surely can recall a moment your eyes were opened to a certain need. It may have been a need in a family in your church, a missionary in need, or even a community in need. The fact is that when God opens your eyes in such a way that your spirit stirs with fervency over that need you can be certain that He wants you to be significantly involved in meeting that need.

This is what has been taking place in my spirit for well over a year. And, as I have conversed with 1,000s of ministry leaders around the world, it has become evident that » I want to read more! »

Counseling Children

Counseling Children

This particular counseling principle has been helpful to me counseling children who has made a decision for Christ. For whatever the reason sometimes the child feels that he/she needs to “accept Christ again” even after having made a decision previously. There are various reasons for the child returning; such as sin, assurance of salvation, needing atttention, etc. Remind the child when he/she feels that they need to accept Christ again that Jesus died “once”; therefore, you only need to accept Christ once and that one time is enough. I have found that once you explain this to the child they leave with the assurance that Jesus is with them and that He will never leave.  by Duane M. Lawrence

How God Works in the Lives of Children

How God Works in the Lives of Children

I’m sure that all of us have heard stories of how God has miraculously worked through children. We have our favorite Bible stories that feature God working through children; Samuel and David immediately top our list. But, what about our kids today? How is God working in their lives?

I have dozens of stories that I have shared that feature children being used to show God’s love throughout their families, communities, and countries. Most of those stories feature » I want to read more! »

Unopened Packages

Unopened Packages

Many children can’t wait to open a package when they see it has their name on it. How about the child whose birthday present is delivered a few days before his/her celebration and the parents do not render permission for him/her to open the gift until the birthday party? A child’s mind is full of anticipation so much so that all they can do is think about that perfect present. What is it? It could be something I could play with for hours! Discipline with Love

Discipline with Love

Here’s what I do when behavior problems seem to take over the class:

1) Pray seriously. Without prayer, I know my efforts will fail. I pray in the morning before I go to church. I pray at the beginning of class, mentioning out loud that we need God to help us all behave in a manner that pleases Him. I pray after class (usually when I get home) to thank God for helping the children behave or to ask Him to work in the lives of the children to help them see the way they should act in his house. » I want to read more! »

Making Your Mid-Week Service Something Kids Look Forward To

Making Your Mid-Week Service Something Kids Look Forward To

I have been in ministry to children for almost 20 years now and am excited to see that many churches are going back to the basics in that they are doing family ministry. Back in the days of yesteryear when the Lone Ranger and Tonto were around, families did more activities together. Many of the curricula that were written for mid-week kids clubs had activities for the children to complete at home. But lo and behold as families got busier, » I want to read more! »

Reaching the Learned

Reaching the Learned

My heart is to always be learning something–sometimes the lessons I learn are ones I prefer not to learn. Some lessons we bring on ourselves thru our own choosing. Sometimes we learn a great treasure of truth when not even searching–and don’t you just love those surprises of learning.

The past two years I have been serving in a country whose church heritage is about 200yrs older than our own country. » I want to read more! »

How to Have Inviting Meetings With Your Staff
Children’s Prayer Meetings

Children’s Prayer Meetings

When teaching children to pray during a special children’s prayer meeting, or to teach them to pray in your weekly service, an important key is to keep kids’ interest by being goal oriented. Each prayer time should have a theme. If you meet weekly, you may want to keep a theme for a month at a time, depending on the theme. Some theme examples would be: » I want to read more! »
