Easy to do Halloween alternative

Easy to do Halloween alternative

We belong to a SMALL church, and there are not many people ready to volunteer to run drawings, games and booths. What they are willing to do is sit in a chair at the trunk of their cars, handing out candy to children in the church parking lot.

What you do is have the willing, decorate their car with fall decorations or even a few creepy creatures. One that I saw even had a DVD player playing “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” out of their mini van. Anyway, they park the cars side by side so all of the trunks are facing the same direction and kids “Trunk or Treat” at the cars. It saves parents the hassel of driving them all over and it’s an outreach all in one. by Kris Bone

All Things are Possible with God – Scientific Object Lesson

The Mad Scientist Presents: MAD ABOUT JESUS: Scientific Object Lessons to Teach Biblical Truths By Daniel A. Briere

Object Lesson 10: “All Things are Possible with God”

LESSON:

We are powerless by ourselves, but with God we are strong.

SUMMARY:

Just as air has the power to crush a can of soda or suspend a ping-pong ball in mid-air, so God has the power to do all things. We are powerless, but God’s power protects those he loves, for all things are possible with God. » I want to read more! »

God of the Incredible

God of the Incredible

2 Kings 6:1-7; "The company of the prophets said to Elisha, Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us. Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to live. And he said, Go.

Then one of them said, Won’t you please come with your servants? I will, Elisha replied. And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. Oh, my lord, he cried out, it was borrowed!

The man of God asked, Where did it fall? When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. 7 Lift it out, he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it."

Polaroid Scavenger Hunt (Digital Cameras Allowed)

Polaroid Scavenger Hunt (Digital Cameras Allowed)

This is a fun idea for slightly older kids — probably 10 and up or so.

Enlist one parent volunteer for each group of kids … a group must be able to fit into that parent’s car with a seatbelt. So, a 7 seat belt van can have 6 kids and a driver. In advance, let the drivers know what will be on the list. Each car needs a polaroid instant camera. » I want to read more! »

Lick and Stick

Lick and Stick

This game is absolutely hilarious! All you need is large marshmallows and some adventurous kids. Do it as a race – each child must lick the end of the marshmallow and stick it to their foreheads. Then they run back and forth to whatever start and finish line you have set up without having the marshmallow fall off. If the marshmallow does fall off then they must stop and stick again then continue the race. This one surprised me the first time I played because not only do the marshmallows stick very well most of the kids ate the marshmallow after their race was done! by Deb Ulm
