Memory Verse Relay

Memory Verse Relay

Here is a fun way to teach the memory verse or scripture verse to your Sunday school Class. Place a word or words from the verse inside deflated balloons (make sure there is enough for your class) and then blow them up. Hand one balloon to each child. Divide them into teams and have one chair per team. When you say go a child from each team runs toward their chair and places the balloon on the seat, they try to pop their ballon by sitting on it when they do they retrieve the paper from their balloon and return to their team and the next child in line starts.

Why I Still Do Altar Calls

Why I Still Do Altar Calls

Why I still do altar calls or invitations to be born again.

I realize that a lot of the church world has moved away from doing alter calls during their services. Many people have questioned why I continue to use this method of evangelism. Let me start off by stating a few things that I see that would cause leaders to shy away from this method.

1. I understand that just because someone comes forward during a service does not mean that a change has taken place in their lives and many people have walked away confused.

Mary - Joseph - Angel Game

Mary - Joseph - Angel Game

This is an easy fun game to play anywhere. Kids each get a partner. They put their backs to each other on the count of three they turn and face each of with a poise. (This is kinda like the rock, paper, scissor game) The poises are Mary - a girl poise hand on hip and head, Joseph - muscle man poise, flexing both arms, Angel - flap arms like wings. This is who wins who, Mary wins Joseph, Joseph wins Angel, Angel wins Mary. Keep playing until one is left standing. A special prize for the winner is great! If there is someone who doesn’t have a partner they get a free pass to the next round of play. by Kim Guerino

I made two very large (approx. 4′ by 10′) roadmaps on rolled paper with markers. The road was a curving double line with the names of the books of the bible in order along it. I put one of these maps on each end of the classroom walls, and put masking tape rolls by each book name. » I want to read more! »

Text- (Psalm 122:6, 7a, 8-9) Pray for Jerusalem’s peace! Prosperity to all you Jerusalem-lovers! Friendly insiders get along. For the sake of my family and friends, I say it again: live in peace! For the sake of the house of our God, God. I’ll do my very best for you. (The Message-Eugene H. Peterson)
